Full figure young women!!!(18-27ish) i am a senior in college?

and a fashion design student. our final is a fashion show. although im a size 10, im designing a plus size clothing line. i have seen my sister, who is plus size, suffer too much cause there is nothing out there for young women to wear. its all either maternity looking, or nightgown old woman looking. this pisses me off, as im sure it does you. but since im not plus size, im having difficulty designing new, confident, beautiful clothes for full figured young women. so i need your help. what's out there that you wish fit you? if you could have any designs, details, shapes, patterns ect., what would you want? anything helps. you can just tell me about yourself if you want. it all motivates me even more. but please!! tell me what kind of clothes you want so i can make them and i promise, you will be able to buy them in stores in no time.

I'm a 24-26 very big girl and I wear the best of everything my clothes only look maternity when I'm pregnant. I wear anything a person a size 10 wear and I wear it well. I too design clothes for larger teen and Young women. try looking at Torrid.com, oldnavy.com and Alloy.com you'll find the only thing different between our clothes and regular sizes is the fullness of the cut. Please don't discriminate! big women can wear fashionable styles that small women wear and still look classy, sexy and tasteful. we can look go too, I know I sure do!!

I don't know if I am welcome to answer this question since I am 32, but I'll chime in anyways. I am a pretty tall woman; I am 5'9 and wear a size 12-14. For the office, Nothing looks better on a plus size woman than a tailored cut. Large shirts with no tailoring makes a large woman look sloppy. As for shirts, i think you should remeber that larger women also may have a larger bust, so I ould create room in the chest region too . Evening wear; dresses that show off some leg, but leave alot to the imagination. Also, when it comes to sleeves in any shirt, makes sur you make them wide enough so that the shirt doesn't look like its going to cut off the circulation! Weh it comes to csual wear, jeans, should have a lycra in them, so they can mold to the shape without looking too tight. Also try using colors that are fun and flirty. I like the off the shoulder tee shirt, with a tank underneath on a plus size woman and a great fitting jean. Make sure that you make proper sized accessories for these clothes; big girls can rock sling belts, too!

I like clothes that give me room in the bust and the tummy. But I hate shirts that look like boxes. I like darts and slimming in the sides, but flattering. I also like pants that don't have waistband gap. Something that's also slimming.

How do you translate the following things to spanish?

Why are there only floor length dresses for fat women?

Ok, so Im an American size 6, which isnt too small and isnt too big.

I want a pretty and femenine long floor length night gown dress.

Like this, but prettier...

http://www.gaiam.com.au/Product_Detail.aspx?ProductID=7925

More vintage, 1960s, like this.

http://www.heavenlyvintagelingerie.com/store/item/60084.Embroidered.Heavenly.Blue.Vanity.Fair.Plus.Nightgown.~.42

BUT whenever I try to find one, the sizes are only for 12 to freaking 24! It's so annoying. Is it that they just sell out before I get to them, or is it that these are the only jammies that fat women can wear?

Do you know where I can find small long nightgowns? I have tried places like Target, but it's all the same.

(I cant purchase things online).

victoira secret has them or go to sears they have them also

Because no one wants to see their canckles and cottage cheese, and the dress makers know that.

i never see floor length night gowns, they seem uncomfortable

To hide cankles.

Packing my hospital bags... What will I actually USE while in the hospital?

I am 35w1d and come into my moms each day while my husband works 2nd shift. Because of this I want to pack a bag that I can leave in his truck so if the time comes and I'm at my moms its in there and I have everything. Plus he keeps bugging me about packing it! What should I pack that I will actually use? And my hospital doesn't allow us to wear our own nightgowns and what not. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Chapstick

nursing bra

nursing pads *get them even if you're bottle feeding because you will leak!

Comfy underwear that you won't mind staining. They will get stained!

TUCKS -hemmorhoids!

Speaking of hemmorhoids, take some colace too!

deodorant

soap/shampoos (hospital stuff not the best)

toothbrush/toothpaste

brush

make-up bag *you will look & feel like crap but everyone will want pictures of you and baby anyhow

DIGITAL CAMERA- Do not forget!

change for snack machines

$ for gift shop and pictures

baby-

coming home outfit

picture outfit

2 undershirts

1 undershirt with a sleeper for back-up

emory board

nail clippers

socks

mittens

baby rags- 2 4 packs

2 receiving blankets

warm blanket

pram for coming home

If you have a PSP or Nintendo DS those are great for entertainment.

Most people don't tell you this but don't forget to bring a pair of lose waisted comfortable pair of pants. Your belly will still be big and you will need to be very comfortable while sitting up and breastfeeding if you do breastfeed. Feminine protection and very comfortable and loose waisted underwear and warm socks. Diapers for the baby and outfit for baby and don't forget you can't leave the hospital unless you have a proper car seat for the baby. All the best to you!

I went through 3 pairs of socks and had magazines/books that came in handy. I brought my own pillows, which I was so happy to have. Before hand, I had put together a folder with all of the info that I needed and any papers that I thought I might need, It helped in organizing my thoughts as well as a place to put the paperwork that they gave me when I left the hospital. They will give this stuff, but it was nice to have my own tooth brush/paste, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, face wash, etc.

I wish I would have had more of my own underwear and a change of bottoms (just in case) to go home in. Also, some sort of container to keep my little things together (I had that little table covered with my cell phone/pen/glasses/etc.). Stuff kept falling off and it is hard to get out bed. I never used my ipod, chapstick, hard candy, slippers (had to wear their slipper thingys),

That's all I can think of right now. Good Luck!

Bathroom supplies, camera, and clothes to wear home were about it. They gave me socks to wear and even post partum undies, awful but at least I didn't ruin my own. You will obviously need a pair or two of your own and maybe a couple pairs of your own socks but that's about it. They provide pretty much everything.

If you think you will want to get in the shower during labor your husband might want swim trunks of shorts of some kind. I took a swim suit for myself but was in so much pain I just stripped and jumped in.

this is what i took and somethings i bought when i got there..i used it all.

3 outfits for baby

booties and mitts so the cant scratch there face

baby hat

baby nail clippers

a baby blanket

i also took a few diapers in case.

magazines

lip chap

brush

my own shampoo

a night

change of clothes to wear home

house coat and slippers

pens and thank you cards

underwear and socks

camera/video camera

pads from home(hospital ones suck to wear home)

for your hubby

money for food

change of clothes(if he intents on staying)

thats all i can think of, thats everything i remember using.

i didn't use a nightgown i wore a hospital gown

toothbrush

toothpaste

magazine in case its a slow labor

hairbrush

change for vending machines and cafeteria

list of phone numbers

insurance card

clothes for the way home something comfy elastic waist big shirt

socks my feet were freezing and it was july

baby book if you want them to stamp the hand and foot prints

while your there swipe a water roof mat {some hospitals use puppy pads don't grab that} bc you'll be bleeding badly post par tum later you can put it under the baby bath tub. also take any pads/peri bottle/diapers/wipes left in the room. sign up with infamil to get a free diaper bag filled with goodies.

I brought my own night gown which I did not end up using a lot of the things I brought I didn't bother using. But deffinantly something comfortable to wear home like sweat pants. Pads! The hospital will provide them but just incase you don't like theirs bring your own. Stuff for the baby, a hat, mitts, socks, blanket depending on how cold it its maybe a jacket or pants for your baby. Of course don't forget a car seat to bring him home in.

depending on how long you'll be there you might want an mp3 player, or a laptop. Maybe playing cards or just something to keep yourself busy while your stuck there. I was stuck in the hospital for four days. and I was glad I brought stuff to do.

i just left the hospital saturday from having my baby and these are the things that u will need. Soap, toothpaste and brush, deoderant, lotion, comb, hair tie if hair is long cause u will need it for delivery, somthing to write on, or a book, or i brought my laptop lol, I suggest that u do not wanna wear ur own gown becuase it might get messed up. and the gowns there are more convient when they will continue to check you and take ur blood. The outfit you wear there is the same one you can wear home because it wont be getting dirty. Good Luck

Comfy clothes, sweats, comfy shirt for when you leave. Recieving blankets, burp rags, a paci for the baby if you will let it use one. If you are breastfeeding- some breast cream and some breast pads, the hospital will give you some formula if you are formula feeding. Pretty much the hospital will take care of the baby. Bring clothes for daddy... toothbrush, soap/shampoo for both of you, and an outfit for the baby.

I brought some chips and snacks for my sons father too.. books, magazines, whatever make sure you have plenty to keep you occupied!

Nursing pads and bra, a few maxi pads (they should provide some generic ones but you will be more comfy with store brand), chapstick, saline nasal spray, camera, socks, slippers, robe, toothbrush, brush, toothpaste, lots of fresh wipes (those hemmorhoids can be very painful to wipe if you have a natural birth), clothes for the baby, your own pillow, dvd's, mp3 player, phone charger, washcloth (my hospital didn't provide), maternity underwear, shampoo, if you wear contacts don't forget your solution, deodorant (you will find you stink pretty badly from the hormone flush after birth). I was in the hospital after a emerg. c-section for 5 days- usually if you are just there for two days you may not need all this. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!

contact the hospital because some hospitals are different

My two times that I went I used:

Nightgowns

Bra

Soap (They should provide that but I only use a certain kind for my sensitive skin)

Deodorant (The same as above)

Lotion (Same)

Socks

Slippers with a hard bottom some hospital require that you get up out of the bed to walk around hospital, so that you don't get any blood clots

toothbrush

toothpaste (hospital toothpaste is horrible)

brush

comb

they should give you the big maternity pads

if you are breast feeding:

nipple cream

Baby:

A outfit to come home in (the hospital should provide everything for the stay in the hospital like diapers, milk, bottles, etc)

That should do it!!

Take pictures and congrats

Toiletries. Don't forget those. Shampoo, facewash, body wash, chap stick, etc I started to pack my bag the first day of week 37 and 2 days later my daughter was born. I was halfway unprepared and had to send my husband home to get everything else.

Also, bring a pillow or two from home. I didn't and I wish I had. Oh, don't forget slippers!

That's about it for things you'll use AT the hospital (that I can remember...) But on your way out, clothes to go home in, and a baby outfit.

Good luck with everything!!

I used lip balm (dry lips during labor!) my robe (to make myself more comfortable after the birth) Comfy socks (I had cold toes!!) hairbrush, shampoo & soap, hard candy (for labor).

Also, the camera ! Don't forget the camera!

I packed TOO much with my first child. The second one I was much more reasonable.

You really don't use too much stuff. You aren't in labor too long, and after you are obsessed with the baby. :)

Congratulations! Hoping for an easy birth for you!

You will need sweaters for your and the baby, socks, diapers, change of clothes for you and the baby, extra towels and toothbrush, body soap...like a trip but with baby things. dont forget the car seat. and blankets and the baby shoes. oh yeah and your make-up and a comb, brush extra bra. Shoes, The baby bag!

i used my camera, laptop, pillow and blanket. a few pares of clothes (pack a few different sizes; you wont know what will fit.) toilet items, like shampoo and such, toothbrush/makeup. that's all i used, i stayed for two nights. the hosptial will supply you with everything else.

and don't forget an outfit for the baby. pack preemie, newborn and 0-3months, you don't know how big your baby will be yet.

you will/ might need:

Bathrobe

slippers

2 bras (a special one if u wanna breastfeed)

underpants

a pad belt

tooth brush and toothpaste

curlers (if you want)

comb(if u want, again)

brush (optional, but recommended)

cosmetics (optional)

books or mags (optional)

some thing to wear home. remember to choose something loose fitting, as you won't quite have your figure back yet lol

"And my hospital doesn't allow us to wear our own nightgowns and what not."

Huh? You're going to a hospital, not a prison. If such a policy really exists it's high time somebody told them to shove it. Wear whatever you please.

As for what else to bring -- food, good food.

SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, AND BODY WASH.

I was so unbelievably disappointed that I didn't bring those items [in the heat of the moment you forget] all I wanted to do the day after birth was shower, and feel clean.

dressing gown, slippers, 2 pack of materbity pads

3 nursing bras, breast pads, toiletries

books, mags

earplugs,eyeshades

money (snacks, tv,etc)

here's a great site that gives you a check list http://pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/baby/Customized-labor-bag-checklist-234.htm

bathroom stuff. Mainly toothpaste and toothbrush. maybe some deodorant, and a hair brush, and lastly a pair of flip flops. but nothing else. Hospital provides all the pads and essentials.

underwear pads your shampoo a bathtowel/washcloth brush makeup camera babys stuff pillow whatever you need to be comfortable

battery charger for your cell and camera (if you have).....and stuff that other people wrote.

congratulation and goodluck.

Change of clothes for the day you leave, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, bottle water Thats all I can think of. Good Luck

iPod? I can't live without mine...

I had my daughter in January 2008, and am due with my second in June 2009 (so close in age I know, this one was sort of a surprise!). Anyway, the things I am def. bringing this time are:

*Bathrobe (their gowns are open in the back - awkward! lol

*Lip balm/chapstick (with all the breathing your lips get really chapped)

*Bathroom supplies

*Slippers or booties for walking around in (hospital floors freak me out to walk barefoot, also they will keep your feet warm since you cant wear sweats ect)

*Music/reading material/movies for to pass time not only during labor, but after you have the baby while your still at the hospital.

*Snacks (I was starving while in labor and wanted bland foods so my mom brought me down a bagel with cream cheese, it made a great snack that didn't upset my stomach).

*CAMERA don't forget this one!

*Change of clothes to wear home from the hospital (something lose fitting like a sweat outfit, or sweats & t-shirt ect)

*Phone list of people you want to call (if you have people you want to call)

*your birth plan if you made one

*MY OWN PILLOW

*And last but certainly NOT the least, Reading material for your husband along with snacks (they get whiney... lol)

I think that's it as far as things I really don't want to forget. Good luck and CONGRATS!!!

Need help finding comfy plus size maternity pj's?

I've been looking for some comfy plus size maternity pj's. I don't like sleeveless ones though. I have the two nightgowns shown on Motherhood's page. I've looked at Lane Bryant, Old Navy, Gap...no luck. Anyone have a great place to buy pj's? Need something comfy for the hospital.

Do you plan on wandering around the hospital? The reason I ask is that I stayed in my hospital gown the whole time I was hospitalized due to the amount of bleeding you do after birth. I had nice nightgowns purchased for the occassion but didn't want to wear them for fear of getting them all bloody.

have you looked at target? they always have a great selection

or jcpenny's cataloge/online, or catherine's is for plus size, nice selection

and i'm a postpartum nurse and i promise you shouldn't get anything nice for the hospital, it's gonna get nasty from the blood and hospital germs. The only reason to buy somthing if if you are planning on breast feeding, then you'll need the little top that had easy access and you can find those on breast feeding websites, otherwise wear your hubbies clothes, sweats

I agree, men's tshirts and sweats lol..... look for mens pj bottoms, you should be able to find an appropriate size........ I have been finding my maternity clothes at Walmart for very reasonable prices. Honestly once your in the hospital and baby is born, your not really going to care much what you look like....you just want to be covered and comfortable so check out mens pj bottoms and buy yourself a nice cozy housecoat (not white!)

I went to Burlington Coat factory and got some really cute Maternity Nightgowns, and they came with a nightgown for baby to wear also, that matches. There really cute and soft. I'm going to use them in the hospital, but while im at home, I'm sticking too the hubbys T-shirts and some baggy shorts :).

I had a hard time finding plus size cloths period!!! You can try JCPenny's. Thats where I found my pants at. The only other thing I can think of is to goto wal mart and get the 2 or 3X pj pants, and tops.

You can also try K Mart (if they have one around you).

GOOD LUCK!

Just shop for normal pjs in a larger size. Maternity pjs are very expensive and if comfort is more important than fashion, shop normal stores in the non-maternity section.

Im having the same problem everything Ive found is long sleeve or sleeveless!

personally, I have been wearing my BF's pajama pants and tshirts to bed! They are loose and comfy.. you might want to check out men's pajamas.

Men's t-shirt and sweat pants. Really comfy!

Plus young ladies 18-27ish, please help!!!?

Well we just want to look the same as other women and wear styles that are the same or similar. Take that into consideration.

Hi

My sister wears a size 16/18 and like u said the only places she can go is to Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant "motherly stores". I am into fashion big time always shopping and dressing "fly". She loves my dress and wants to mirror it but I am the last size that most stores carry and she is SOL. Anywayz back to part that concerns you she loves skinny jeans, high waist jeans, trouser jeans, colored jeans, cute stylish t-shirts with different sayings in longer lengths, and sexy shirts for going out ( not club wear but on a date ). Good Luck on your final and if you need a model she will be perfect.

cute bras... prints ...like leopard pencil skirts and figure fitting tailored tees uum long shirts sonttimes full figured shirts are wide and short ...im a 10-12 like u but i have flat stomach and big tatas and nice hips so i always want some shirts that dont gape at the buttons....all the stuff on www.torrid.com is good except they sometimes shangi it so all the stuff on there is ghetto...http://www.torrid.com/torrid/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302030166&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442164523&bmUID=1190530068465

that top like draws the attention to your face and is wonderful because no prego look

No nightgown....put a shower curtain on your bed, lie down on it, pour some eatable oil all over your body and tell him to come in the room. Have some whipped cream and fresh cherries ,strawberries and some champagne on hand. Now use your imagination. I can't get any more detailed.

OH DON'T FORGET THE SCENTED CANDLES!!

Happy Valentine's Day.

Victoria's Secret or Fredrick's of Hollywood

First of all, we don't like the fact that "plus size" ends at 28. If they do go to 32-34 they are always "out".

It also seems like plus size clothes come in stretchy material that clinges to your body. I don't understand this. I want something to hide it not show it off.

Styles I like empire waist b/c that is the smallest part. For me, I would rather have thick straps or sleeved shirts as I don't want to show my arm. Also, longer shirts to hide the lower roll (that shows up under the pants). That's all I have now because it's late. Email me and I will come up with more.

GOOD LUCK!!! I really hope you suceed!

basically, i find i like a lot of the styles but everything is made to fit a size 4 figure. tops are too clingy and short.

Plus young ladies 18-27ish, please help!!!?

i am a senior in college and a fashion design student. our final is a fashion show. although im a size 10, im designing a plus size clothing line. i have seen my sister, who is plus size, suffer too much cause there is nothing out there for young women to wear. its all either maternity looking, or nightgown old woman looking. this pisses me off, as im sure it does you. but since im not plus size, im having difficulty designing new, confident, beautiful clothes for full figured young women. so i need your help. what's out there that you wish fit you? if you could have any designs, details, shapes, patterns ect., what would you want? anything helps. you can just tell me about yourself if you want. it all motivates me even more. but please!! tell me what kind of clothes you want so i can make them and i promise, you will be able to buy them in stores in no time.

I am a plus size woman and I am looking for a sexy nightgown for valentine's day ... any suggestions?

No nightgown....put a shower curtain on your bed, lie down on it, pour some eatable oil all over your body and tell him to come in the room. Have some whipped cream and fresh cherries ,strawberries and some champagne on hand. Now use your imagination. I can't get any more detailed.

OH DON'T FORGET THE SCENTED CANDLES!!

Happy Valentine's Day.

Victoria's Secret or Fredrick's of Hollywood

save time lay in bed and cover your body in chocolate sauce and strawberries!!!!then you dont have to worry any guy loves food and sex haha

try going to lane bryant

Check it out!

What are some fashion tips for this years winter? and what are some people wearing this winter?

I want to know what some opinions are for different people believe are hot for winter and what is not hot for the winter. And how some people stay warm and still look cute during the winter. So basically I also need winter fashion tips.

well winter is a tricky one bacause we have all these exiting trends but it's really cold. what do you do? layer. layering is still big but the way you do it has changed, layer bold coloured camis underneath grey/black jumpers and wear and bold coloured waistbelt. my personal opinion do not wear uggs, yes they're comfy but they kill an outfit. instead opt for fab ankle boots, make it in this season's hottest colour-black. if you want to be super on trend make them patent and get a bag to match. ankle boots are so versatile, tuck skinny jeans into them or wear with coloured/patterned tights and skirts/shorts. another super hot item this winter is the leather bomber. and don't foregt a cute beanie!

Phew, hope that helped :D

I personaly like the sweater dresses and they are hot this yet. Thick sweaters. Nice tailroes jackets and coats, nothing big and bulky.

Knitwear is in at the moment, big chunky sweaters and cardigans. Gold, yellow, orange and brown are the colours that are in this season.

dark red and plum clothes, makeup, acceries, anything

peep toes

wide legged jeans

waist high jeans

im thinking its time to be free of the clothes

Nothing worng with asking for fashion tips=)

I like this year:

Jeans:

Skinny Jeans

Skinny Flare Jeans

Shirts:

Cute Sweaters

Dress Sweaters

Shoes:

Flats

Heels

Uggs

Jewerly:

Chunke Is It i.e. bracelets,necklaces

Long Beads of all colors...

Purses:

Big purses are really cute!

Hope I Helped=)

a cute name brand coat and some skinny jeans with those stylish boots.(you know the furry ones).

thats what i think is in style!!

=D

uggs or other boots like roos. skinny jeans, & empire waist cut tops that are a slightly longer. or those long sweaters where you can wear tights and uggs with. or leg warmers & uggs :)

Wear a pretty fluffy winter jacket and don't forget the sneakers.

You have to wear a big sweater and skinny jeans, with high boots. So cute ;)

cute sweaters seem to be popular as well as uggs making a comeback this year

What is the difference between fashion marketing and fashion merchandising?

Im wondering because i want to be a fashion buyer, like what rachel was in friends, but which would i have to major in fashion marketing or fashion merchandising???

it doesnt really matter they both are the samething if you search for more information on the two you can be a fashion buyer for both of them and also make sure you go to a good school not one that advertise itself on tv late at night those always seem a little sketchy go to top cities like miami, los angelos, new york, chicago and parts of europe..its a risk but its a great career

I just want to add that there actually is a slight difference between the marketing and merchandising functions. If you want to do what Rachel did, go for fashion merchandising. Here is the difference: The fashion marketers work in the corporate offices and rarely have a reason to venture outside http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20071010143152AAHtUjf&kid=JY5RUlHJI3Ljit2RmX51&s=comm&date=2008-09-21+14%3A23%3A41&.crumb=

unless there's a promotional event going on or something similar. Marketers are in the field, involved in how many pieces get to which stores, whether product is moving, that kind of thing. They interact directly with retailers. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20071010143152AAHtUjf&kid=JY5RUlHJI3Ljit2RmX51&s=comm&date=2008-09-21+14%3A24%3A56&.crumb=

How to clean a cloth/embroidered Swatch watch band?

I have several Swatch watches with cloth embroidered bands. I've been unable to remove them. Has anyone successfully cleaned them? Thanks.

take them to a jeweler to remove them, then wash them in a lingerie bag in the washer, lay them out to dry.
